Classic motors like Minis, Ford Escorts and Volkswagen Campervans have become significantly appealing to criminals due to the top quality parts and insufficient modern day security measures, reported by an automobile recovery organization.
TRACKER, which specializes in retrieving stolen vehicles, is informing keepers to strengthen the protection of these classic motors to ensure they are less attractive targets.
The head of the company’s police force relationship group, Stuart Chapman, states many crooks are taking classic motors to sell off the valuable parts, so people who have work-in-progress cars kept unprotected on driveways are proving to be favoured by crooks. He explained many older classic motors don’t have the same degree of security measures as more modern day vehicles, which makes them simpler to take and also impacting on the price of motor insurance
Mr Chapman verified that classic motors robberies are increasing and he stated lots of owners should do more to ensure their “pride and joy” remains safe and secure. He explained they shouldn’t be put off from adding security alarms and immobiliser simply because they will have an effect on the appearance of their classic motors.
